Rehearsals

The orchestra meets weekly on Tuesday evenings, working on both modern and the great orchestral works, readying for audiences all over the Penobscot Bay. region.

Twice a year, we hold open rehearsals, inviting those who might like to join us to come and read from works that we plan to perform.. Open rehearsal for the start of our Summer Season is will be a Tuesday in early June, from 6 to 8 pm. It will be a short and light season, with concerts in mid August. Come find out if you’d like to join us for the winter season. Music will be available. Contact us if you have questions, or would like to let us know you will be there.

Performances

Our Spring/Summer 2024 Concerts are planned for May 5 in Belfast, May 7 in Camden, August 15 in Rockland., and August 20 in Camden.The Penobscot Bay Orchestra is launching its 4th season, following an impressive start in 2021. The orchestra uses the arts to stimulate and advance compassionate involvement in significant social issues, and has given over $3,100 in audience donations to the United Midcoast Charities, The Landing Place - Knox County Homeless Coalition, Healthy Lincoln County, and the Camden Area Christian Food Pantry.

The orchestra's upcoming concert music includes Shostakovich 5th Symphony, 4th movement, Strauss Waltzes, and more. The December concerts included music of Schubert, Borodin, and Stravinsky.
